It’s the holiday season which is the best reason to add a little sparkle to your makeup! In this look, I did a cranberry Smokey eye, winged liner (as if anyone’s seen me without a wing lol) and glitter liner on the lower lash line. Let me walk you step by step through my makeup routine!
Whether I’m wearing shadow or not, I always start with my foundation. I always like that my base is finished when I start my eyes so I can start to see the final look come together. My favorite foundation of all time is currently the TooFaced Peach Perfect 14hour foundation. Not only is it oil free (which is so important when putting products on your skin) but it’s long wearing, has a great shade range, smells like peaches AND gives my skin an airbrushed look and feel. Can you tell I’m obsessed? I’m in the shade, Sand. I blend my foundation with a dampened Morphe Beauty Sponge on the pointed side. Next is concealer. My ride or die is the Tarte Shape Tape in light neutral. If you haven’t tried this concealer yet, head to your Sephora and get a free sample. It’s full coverage, pigmented and crease-less! I blend my concealer with the same beauty sponge as foundation with the flat side and put it on the high points of my face- under the eyes in a triangle, between my brows, on my Cupid’s bow and on my chin. To set, I use the Colourpop no filter setting powder in fair for over the places I put concealer and medium for the rest of the face. Next, I bronze. An AWESOME drugstore bronzer is the Physician’s formula butter bronzer. I swear by this product. I use the shade deep-bronzer. It’s creamy and smooth and blends like a dream. Bonus points that it smells like a pina colada! I bronze my cheekbones, temples, the sides of my nose, under my jawline and the halo of my forehead. I have high cheekbones so I usually skip “contouring” with a more detailed brush. The blush I have on is from the Morphe 8W warm blush palette (unapologetic and witty, mixed together)- I love the mix of these shades for the perfect pair of matte and highlighted tones with super-pigment! Is there anything morphe can’t do, let’s be honest!! Lastly, I shape my brows with the Colourpop precision brow pencil in the shade Champagne Blonde, using feathered strokes and I set the hairs in place with the Morphe clear brow finishing gel.
Now that my base is finished (of course I haven’t forgotten the highlight), I use the RCMA No Color Translucent Powder to catch any fallout under my eyes from the shadow look we’re about to create! I use the already dampened beauty sponge (from foundation and concealer) and stamp a generous amount under my eyes, using the flat side of the sponge, from the sides of my nose to the outside corners of my eyes. We look like a clown at this point but that’s okay because it’s worth it to not ruin the effort we just put in to our makeup! For this look I used the Colourpop Double Entendre Eyeshadow palette (which is an identical dupe for the Jesse James Decker Palette). I used the color “send noodles” as my transition shade with a big fluffy brush and put it in the natural crease of my eye. Next I used “keep it pg”and added that on top of the already blended transition shade with a blending brush for added dimension. Next, all over the lid I used “Extra curricular” and pat it on with a packer brush. To top it off, I used “Hot Bod” on a different packer brush spritzed it with setting spray for extra pigmentation (if you wet shimmer shades before application, they are even more sparkly) and set it in the middle of my lid. On the lower lash line I blended an equal amount of “keep it pg” and “extra curricular” with a pencil brush and flat definer brush, lined my water line with black eyeliner– my favorite, longest lasting from Tarte Cosmetics, and added a line of nyx gold glitter liner on top of the shadow. Next I added a thin winged liner to my top lash line, used the BEST mascara for lengthening and volume, ItCosmetics Superhero Mascara, and popped on some lashes!
Finally—— the highlight! My go to highlight since forever is Champagne Pop from Jaclyn Hill x Becca. I use it everywhere. I’d honestly bathe in it if I could. I highlight the tops of my cheekbones, cupid’s bow, the tail of my brow bones & the bridge of my nose with the same brush & the inner corner of my eyes with the M169!
Lipstick is Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in “Frick n Frack” this color is very pigmented and long-lasting. I highly recommend all of Colourpop’s satin lipsticks!
To set everything in place and to melt all of the powders into the skin (this step is so important) I use the Morphe prep and set makeup setting spray, religiously. This setting spray makes my makeup last ALL DAY LONG, up to 16-18hr wear!
Girl, you’re done!! Not so bad, right?!
Makeup tips- blend, blend, blend. Use those brushes in windshield wiper motions, in circular or linear motions- we don’t want any harsh lines on the eyes, nose contour, bronzer- anywhere. Work those wrists! There should not be any distinct sections between your bronzer and blush or your eyeshadows.
My everyday brushes: All are Morphe (are you surprised?!)
Foundation // concealer // bronzer // setting powder // under eye powder // blush // highlight // nose contour
